Part Number:GIANTHYGRO

Hygrophila corymbosa has long, narrow pointy leaves which are an average of 3 to 5 inches. If left grown, the height of the plant can reach up to 24 inches. The leaves are bright green to dark green and quite dense if the plant is kept in proper conditions. Giany Hygro is fast growing, so this plant can be used as cycling plant as it does great taking in extra nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia.

 Giant Hygro
is very popular in Dutch aquaria for their full appearance and in cichlid tanks for their ability to adapt to a broad range of water parameters.

Many plants if kept under strong light the leaves will take on a red or pinkish hue. See pictures to the left.

NOTE: When planting this plant it is advised to plant each stem separate so light can get to the bottom of each stem.

Planting Instructions

Stem plants are usually cuttings of plants that normally don't come with roots. This is how stem plants are sold in the aquatic plant industry although many times my stem plants may come with roots because I have been growing them out. All stem plants come with a plant weight that holds the plant in place and is safe for your tank.

To plant just let the weight lay on your substrate and the stems will grow roots throughout your substrate. You can also plant the tips, about 1/4" in your substrate if you prefer.

Amazing quality plant
Ordered this plant from PAC as I have ordered from them before and I was extremely happy with those orders and again was very pleased with what I got when this arrived as well. The quality and size of this plant is incredible and was very healthy. Not to mention the quantity was very generous. Packaging and shipping was great, very fast and very affordable and can't be beat. I couldn't be happier with my purchases and recommend this plant and this business to anyone. They have gained my regular business no doubt. Thanks PAC!

I expected the plant to be exactly like the picture. Was definetly alot taller, but that is explained in the description. Beautiful plant, and almost looks fake. Overall happy with the purchase.

nice
i ordered and received this plant about 6 weeks ago and i love it the stems were about 8 to 9 inches tall when i received them but have quickly grown a few inches since then. also take notice about planting the stems a bit apart, i made the mistake of planting it in a bunch and several of the lower leaves fell off, but once i separated them it began to grow new ones a few days later

Love it!
Like others have said, I didn't expect it to come quite so tall, but it still looks awesome. My Serpae Tetras LOVE this plant. They hang around under it all the time!

Very Pleased
Plants arrived hardy and grow like crazy regardless of water or light conditions. Super easy to propagate. Started with 5 or so and have taken cuttings and now have about 25 plants that have a strong root system. A little Excel twice a week won't hurt but not necessary.

A+
I believe this variety is 'Stricta', my favorite. Took me a while to find it, I usually get trimmings from hobbyists but nobody seems to grow it anymore since the arrival of 'angustifolia' and all the newer, rarer stems. Mine arrived in great condition, showing lots of pink right out of the box. Very healthy and more than expected.
