Cabomba Palaeformis also is known as Purple Cabomba, is a beautiful, lush plant. Depending on the nutrients found in your water and the light intensity, this plant can range from dark green to reddish-brown, as shown in the pictures.

Cabomba palaeformis an undemanding plant that works well for fish fry as it provides terrific cover for them.

Planting Instructions

Stem plants are usually cuttings of plants that generally don't come with roots. This is how stem plants are sold in the aquatic plant industry, although at times, my stem plants may come with roots because I have been growing them out. All stem plants come with a plant weight that holds the plant in place and is safe for your tank.

To plant, just let the weight lay on your substrate, and the stems will grow roots throughout your substrate. You can also plant the tips, about 1/4" in your substrate if you prefer.

Beautiful Plant
This plant is very beautiful. When placed in the water it fills out nicely and looks terrific. I have this plant in 2 tanks. One tank has strong light and the other has low light. The plant does well in both but the color is different. In the strong light tank the plant takes on a pink to purple color while the low light tank it is more green to deep purple under the leaves. I highly recommend this plant if you are looking for a lush plant.

Received 2 beautiful bunches of very long stems. Beautiful, each stem is fuller than I expected. Divided between several of my tanks. I love that the color looks so different depending on the light in the aquarium. One tank it is bright green, another tank it has a purple tint. Cut some of them, to place shorter stems in front of longer ones, looks very full. The longer ones sway beautifully in the aquarium.

Sweet eye candy!
Such beautiful plants! I got a generous bunch in my order, with some extra besides- Thanks! I was amazed that such a fragile plant arrived (in AUGUST!) in absolutely perfect shape. Not one single shed, broken, or melted leaf. Not a hint of mushy stem. Just beautiful sturdy fluffy plants, some stems even had roots. They have been in my tank for a week now, and no transplant shock. The new growth is sporting a lovely bubblegum pink under my moderate lighting. I have never been able to grow this plant before- it would fall apart almost immediately. But then again, I have never had such high quality plants to start with! Thank you!
