Mayaca fluviatilis is beautiful to behold with its delicate light green spiky foliage. It possesses the rare trait of being equally at home in Dutch and Japanese aquascapes, where it has a place as both a neatly trimmed 'hedge' and as a sprawling mid-ground accent. In any situation, it serves as an excellent foil to red plants. Branching abundantly and pearling heavily, it grows with vigor but not with overpowering strength, making it favorable to the maintainer of almost any 'scape.'
This plant only requires moderate light but begins to show more color when kept in high light tanks, as seen in the picture to the left.

Stem plants are usually cuttings of plants that generally don't come with roots. This is how stem plants are sold in the aquatic plant industry, although at times, my stem plant does come with roots because I have been growing them out to sell. My stem plants come with a plant weight that holds the plant in place and is safe for your tank.
To plant, just let the weight lay on your substrate, and the stems will grow roots throughout your substrate. You can also plant the tips, about 1/4" in your substrate if you prefer.
