Vallisneria Spiralis or as most people know them as Italian Vals are wonderful background plants. They do well in just about all water types and lighting, from soft to hard and low light to high light. With Vallisneria Spiralis, you can cut the leaves to any size without damaging the plant which makes them great for small, large, tall, and short tanks.
As with many aquatic plants, the color of Italian vals will vary depending on the light intensity and nutrients found in the water. At times the Italian vals I sell are green, to red, to copper, to purple in color. Please see picture 2.
Growth Rate: Fast
Light Needs: Low to Moderate
You are buying three rooted plants. The picture shows a total of 6 rooted plants.
Right now the vals are averaging 10+" tall.
Note: If you use Seachem Excel as a co2 supplement, please be careful because Excel is known to melt Italian vals.
Plant the roots, Not the plant itself (where the green starts) in your substrate. Planting this plant to deep can cause it to melt. Adding a fertilizer tab a couple of inches from the roots is suggested.
