Vallisneria Americana var. biwaensis, also known as Corkscrew Val, is much like Contortion Val and Italian Val but has a more pronounced spiral. It does not get as tall as other Vallisneria so that it would work well as a mid-ground plant for large aquariums or background for small aquariums.

Works well from low light to high light and neutral to alkaline water.

You are buying three rooted plants that are approx. 6" tall.

Common Name: Corkscrew

Family Name:

Native To Asia

Lighting: Low

pH: 6-8.5

Growth Rate: medium

Placement In Tank: Mid-ground to background

Planting instructions

Vallisneria plants are bottom feeders, so only plant the roots, Not the plant itself (where the green starts) in your substrate. Planting this plant too deep can cause melting.  Adding fertilizer tabs a couple of inches from the roots is suggested.

Absolutely lovely!
I ordered 3 batches of 3 and received one extra (thanks PAC!). Received and planted in tank yesterday and it is acclimating to my tank very well. Such a gorgeous plant I cannot wait for them to gain height. Their beautiful color and tight spiral make them a focal point in my tank. They are not as full as I anticipated they'd be, given the provided pictures. So I am going to (happily) order much more in order to accomplish the appearance I am after. Thanks to PAC for offering yet another wonderful plant!

Fast-growing, Unique Plant
I said the green crypt wendtii was my favorite plant I purchased, but this plant is right up there with it. I thought it looked interesting so I figured why not buy it just for fun. Oh my gosh I made the right choice! It is so green and spiral-y and looks so good in front of my heater I have in the tank. I had it in with my baby bristlnose plecos and they loved to go up and down the spirals. I started off with 1 in September, and I now have 5 full grown entities with 3 that have little corkscrew vals that are about 2 inches tall. Behind the crypt that I fear will never stop growing haha, this is the second fastest growing plant I bought that is really worth it for the price.
